Professional Background
Mary began her medical studies at Auckland University in 1991, continuing the following year at Otago University in Dunedin, New Zealand. She graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
Following graduation, Mary completed her internship in Dunedin before relocating to Australia in 1998. After gaining valuable experience there, she returned to New Zealand to work as an emergency registrar.
In 2004, Mary moved back to Australia, where she worked across a wide range of rural and regional communities, including Ballina, Murwillumbah, Moranbah, Dirranbandi, and the Gurriny Yealamucka Aboriginal community in Yarrabah.
She joined the team at Coolangatta Medical Centre in July 2015.
Mary has special interests in occupational medicine, emergency medicine within general practice, paediatrics, and women’s health.
